Italian Braciole

Italian Braciole

This dish is my son’s favorite. He requested I make this when he came back from college for Christmas break. It is pronounced “Brashoul”.

1 Flank Steak
2 strips bacon
1/2 c bread crumbs
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/4 c chopped olives
1 tsp chopped garlic
1-2tbs olive oil
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
1 jar of your favorite marinara sauce
Twine or skewers
Parmigiana cheese

Take flank steak and place between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound until 1/2-1/4 inch think. this step will also tenderize the meat. Season with salt and pepper. In a bowl combine bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, olives, lemon juice, some salt and pepper to taste and olive oil. Spread this mixture onto steak and lay over it the raw strips of bacon.Roll the steak lengthwise and use skewers or cooking twine to close. In a crock pot, put some marinara sauce on the bottom and place rolled steak. Cover the steak with the remaining sauce. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hrs. Remove and slice steak into medallions. Transfer to platter and garnish with Parmagiana cheese. Serve with any pasta or mashed potatoes.
